We presented hygiene facilities, materials and PPEs to Shai Osu Doku Districts hospital in partnership with USAID to help the efforts to fight #covid19 in the District.
Area of Focus:
Disease Prevention and Treatment

In the early hours of this morning, a critical delivery arrived at the Shai-Osudoku District Hospital, marking a pivotal moment in our local fight against the global pandemic. As the designated partner for this district under the Rotary International-USAID (RIUSAID) WASH Partnership, our club took a decisive step to fortify the region’s healthcare defenses.
The RIUSAID Strategic Alliance
The Rotary-USAID Partnership is one of the most significant professional collaborations in the world of humanitarian service. By combining Rotary’s grassroots community leadership with USAID’s technical and financial expertise, we are able to implement high-impact Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) solutions that save lives. In Ghana, our club has been entrusted with the oversight and execution of these programs within the Shai-Osudoku District—a responsibility we take with the utmost seriousness.
Equipping the District Hospital
The battle against COVID-19 is won or lost on the strength of hygiene protocols and the safety of our medical professionals. To ensure the Shai-Osudoku District Hospital remains a safe haven for patients and a secure environment for staff, we presented a comprehensive suite of supplies, including:
Modern Hygiene Facilities: Robust infrastructure to ensure consistent handwashing and sanitation throughout the hospital premises.
Essential Sanitary Materials: High-grade disinfectants and cleaning supplies to maintain sterile clinical environments.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Critical gear to protect our frontline health workers as they diagnose and treat members of the community.
A Commitment Beyond the Pandemic
While this morning’s presentation was an immediate response to the pandemic, it is part of a much larger, long-term vision. Through the RIUSAID WASH program, we are not just fighting a virus; we are building a permanent culture of hygiene. By improving water access and sanitation facilities today, we are preventing the waterborne diseases of tomorrow.
We remain deeply grateful to the RIUSAID Partnership for their technical guidance and to the hospital administration for their tireless service. To the people of Shai-Osudoku: your health is our priority, and we will continue to stand as your partners in wellness and resilience.
