Rotary Updates

Fellow Rotarians, distinguished guests, family, and friends.
Thank you. I am deeply humbled by the trust you have placed in me to serve as your President for the upcoming year. Standing here tonight, I look out at this room and see not just colleagues, but champions of change. We are the people who roll up our sleeves to make our community—and our world—a better place.
However, I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge that I am standing on the shoulders of giants. To our immediate Past President, IPP Klenam and all PP’s, thank you for your leadership, your resilience, and for steering our ship through calm and stormy waters. You set a high bar, and I am ready to take the baton with enthusiasm.
Today, I want to share on a few key focus areas for our year ahead .
1.The Rotary Foundation: Our Engine of Change
The Rotary Foundation. This is not just a bank account; it is the engine that turns our compassion into action.
I want us to aim high. Our foundation is rated among the best in the world for efficiency, but we cannot rest. As we approach2026 /27, I challenge us to be bold. I envision a year where we move from "awareness" to "action" regarding our giving.
We will focus on Every Rotarian, Every Year. PHF and Benefactors. I want our club to own the fact that we are a Foundation Champion. Let’s give until it feels good.
2.Public Image: Telling Our Story
However, all the good work in the world doesn't matter if no one knows about it.
For too long, we have been the best-kept secret in Ghana. That ends this year. We do not do service for applause, but we do service to inspire. When we plant a tree, clean beaches or renovate kitchens, we need to tell that story.
We have to change the narrative from "Rotary is an old boys' club" to "Rotary is a dynamic force for good." Our digital presence must be sharp, our newsletters engaging, and our interactions welcoming. We will use our Public Image to attract the next generation of leaders. Let’s make sure that when people think of community action in Ghana, they think of us first.
3.Member Retention:
It is Family, not Numbers
I know we all want to "grow" the club, and we will. But I believe that growth starts from within. Retention is not just about keeping numbers; it is about keeping family.
Our club must be a place of value. Members join us for the service, but they stay for the connection. This year, I want to prioritize the "Rotary Experience." That means:
· Ensuring every meeting is energetic and meaningful.
· Ensuring that every member feels heard and valued.
· And most importantly, ensuring that no one falls through the cracks.
If you are a member of this club, you are not just a name on a roster. You are a vital part of our heartbeat. We will be intentional about checking in, engaging, and making sure that the dues you pay are matched tenfold by the value you receive in friendship and purpose.
4.Community Service:
Finally, we come to the reason we exist: Community Service.
In the coming months, we will face real challenges. There will be floods, education gaps, and families in need right here at our doorstep. Our response must be robust.
This year, we will focus on impact over activity. I don’t just want us to "do" projects; I want us to "solve" problems. I want us to partner with local organizations to create sustainable change. I want us to adopt a project that we can build on year after year. Let’s be the club that is known for getting our hands dirty the club that doesn't just write a check but swings a hammer.
Conclusion:
As your President, I am committed to transparency and integrity, and to making you proud. But I cannot do it alone. Leadership is not about me; it is about us.
I need your ideas. I need your energy. And sometimes, I just need your patience.
The world needs Rotary more than ever. District 9101 needs RCAS more than ever.
So, I ask you to join me.
Let’s build our Foundation, let’s broadcast our story, let’s strengthen our family, and let’s serve our community with joy.
Together let us inspire each member to live Service Above Self and bring our district theme “Create lasting Impact to Life
Thank you RCAS for this incredible honor.
Let’s get to work.
